about

Somewhere in the desert way out west
There's a man on a horse in his Sunday best
He's got a tombstone hat and worn out boots
He rides an all black horse in an all white suit

He kicked up dust riding into town
There was a small crowd gathered just lookin around
He stormed through the town till he reached the bank
The women looked sorry and the men's hearts sank

He said hello stranger how do you do?
Give me the cash or your life is through
He dashed for the exit in a bold escape
He left hearts of fear and an empty safe

Though Tombstone was a wild man
He gave it to the needy
With his stolen profits
He was never greedy
He brought them tea and blankets
You could hear the children's laughter
To care for the common folk thats what he was

After him was Sheriff Bill
A shotgun rifle and a license to kill
He rode to he mountain on a painted horse
He was following the trail of the villain's course
He said dammit Tombstone where are you?
I followed the trail but the trail is through
Then just like a storm cloud from out of the sky
The man in the white suit caught his eye

Though Tombstone was a wild man
He gave it to the needy
With his stolen profits
He was never greedy
He brought them tea and blankets
You could hear the children's laughter
To care for the common folk thats what he was

After a moment the silence broke
There was a shotgun singing and a barrel of smoke
Tombstone lied there on the ground
The bullet wound made a gurgling sound
He said Sheriff Bill before I go
There is one little thing I want you to know
As the banker sits in his leather seat
The children here don't have enough to eat

Though Tombstone was a wild man
He gave it to the needy
With his stolen profits
He was never greedy
He brought them tea and blankets
You could hear the children's laughter
To care for the common folk thats what he was after
